Positive podcasts

Positive podcasts

… and audiobooks.

The best place for my mind & soul is the beach.. I feel like it calms, destress and makes me so happy… however I don’t always have the luxury of just being able to drop everything and head to the beach, so to keep me in a positive mindset everyday I listen to podcasts. Here is a list of some of my favourite, uplifting, helpful, inspiring, happy, intention setting, mindful podcasts and audio books.

I would absolutely love to hear if you have any favourites which I haven’t mentioned on this list, please feel free to pop a comment below or DM me on insta

Up lifting.. Good for your mind kind of podcasts

Spotify - Daily Wellness  -

Listen

I start every morning by listening to this playlist. Everyday spotify curates a playlist with a mix of short daily positive podcasts ( some of which are listed below) in between a couple of uplifting songs.. I reckon it probably pulls the music from what you personally listen to because most the time it seems to be spot on with my taste. Always a great way to start your day happy, uplifted and encouraged.

Everyday Positivity -

Listen

I really love Kate Cockers way of chatting, casual and down to earth. Short clips, usually only about two mins long of positivity or a different way of thinking.

Radio headspace  -

Listen

Another daily short podcast, Andy Puddicombe shares stories about what has happened to him always with a message of a deeper way of understanding human feelings and emotions. I start most mornings listening to Andy.

The Daily shine -

Listen

Breathing and reflection in a meditation like way. I find the voice on this a little weird but once you get past that it really calming.

Mindfull in minutes -

Listen

Meditation guided by Kelly, these 10-20 minute episodes help with guided meditation and mindfulness in a super calm way… just make sure you don’t end up falling asleep.. Its been known to happen. Oops. its just so relaxing.

The Daily Pep -

Listen

Daily short podcasts - usually 3-5 minutes long. Its like Meg Kissack knows exactly what is going on in my life most days.. Usually the topic really fits into what I’m thinking or feeling. Meg uses short stories, funny metaphors and just says things which I think we all need to be reminded of sometimes.

Paul Mckenna’s The Positive Podcast

Listen

Using a mixture of interviews and more educational episodes, I have particularly enjoyed his lockdown episodes which focus on staying, focus, positive, happy whilst we deal with a pandemic, lockdown and coming out of lockdown.

He also has an interview with Rankin for any photography fans out there.

Chatty, conversational podcasts

The Courage makers -

Listen

A weekly podcast and the sister podcast of The Daily Pep. just slightly longer then the daily pep, These podcasts are usually 1hr 30 mins long full of honest stories, advice and dreams which I often find spark ideas, positivity and make you believe you can also do it!

Happy Place -

Listen

Fearne Cotton hosts The Happy Place. She interviews really interesting people and you learn through their conversation more about their life, where they have come from and where they are now and everything in between. They discuss mental health issues and how things in their life have affected them. Each episode is usually pretty inspiring and you get at least one thing out of it.

The Michelle Obama podcast -

Listen

I love Michelle Obama and love her podcast. I think she is such an inspiring women and love her upbeat character on her podcast- There are only three so far but I love what she is doing so far. Michelle is chatting to friends and family which also makes you feel like you are sat around with friends just chatting away. I really loved the protest and pandemic episode.

Conscious Chatter -

Listen

A podcast dedicated to chatting all about clothing and style, sustainability is the core of the conversion. A great way to find out about a more sustainable brand and just stay in the know about what individuals are working on to become more sustainable.

The Rob Auton Daily podcast -

Listen

Short stories read by Rob Auton in this Yorkshire accent. If you’re over thinking this podcast is great for putting on as a quick distraction.

The Edit Podcast -

Listen

L’Oreal Blackett has a fabulous way of interviewing her diverse range of guests. I always come away feeling inspired by their story, their actions or their message.

The Yikes podcast  -

Listen

A podcast by Mikaela Loach and Jo Becker where they chat about climate change, human rights and mental health in a way which doesn't feel overwhelming, just conversational but informative.

The Adam Buxton podcast -

Listen

I found this podcast a few years ago and while I wouldn’t say it focus’s on any particular message just listening to the rambling, sometimes silly conversations with his guest is a welcome distraction and conversation.

Books/ audibles for changing your way of thinking

The Secret By Rhonda Byrne

Listen

This book is one I have re listened to over and over again through the years whenever I feel like I stop practising it. The Secret is all about manifesting what you want in life, practising gratitude and believing in the power of the universe. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who hasn’t got something out of reading this book. I find listening to the audio book more effective for me then reading it.

Essentialism by Greg Mckeown

Listen

I am most the way through listening to this book on audible and oh my it is good!! It is all about less but better and it was exactly what I needed. I’ll leave the first part of the book summary here to see if it is something you think you also need to listen to.

“Have you ever found yourself struggling with information overload?

Have you ever felt both overworked and underutilised?

Do you ever feel busy but not productive?

If you answered yes to any of these, the way out is to become an essentialist. “
